Does anyone have one?I was looking for a full size railed 1911 and the SIG felt great in my hand....any reviews?

Thanks

Great gun.  Shooting any ammo out of all types of magazines.  Very accurate and manageable to shoot.  But that's just my experience with mine.  You will see people crying about external extractors and squared slides but it's a good gun in my opinion.

I got mine a month ago, and so far it's been nothing short of fantastic.  The fit and finish are superb (there is no play, at all, anywhere), the Hogue grips feel and look great, and has shot every time of ammo I have fed it with no problems (LSWC, hollow points, flat points, hardball).  Just keep in mind that regular holsters for railed 1911s won't work, the holsters have to be made specifically for Sig's square slides.  I got a Bladetech OWB for the Sig GSR, and it works like a charm.

Great to hear....thanks. I CCW a Commander and a New Agent, thought this might be a great night stand gun with light attached.

I've had one since August of last year and it's great.  Hundreds of rounds through it, not a single failure.  I have an Insight M3 (tan color) on it for use as my nightstand gun, and I carry it occasionally.  It's a great gun, looks great, runs great, no reason not to get one.

How is the finish holding up?? They use cerakote right?

I have the P229 and 1911 Carry Scorpions.  The P229 is a typical P-series Sig (accurate and reliable). I just fired the 1911 for the first time yesterday and it's incredible...I was drilling 3" targets at 25 feet (standing off-hand) with Black Hills reman 230 grains and being more of a P-series guy, I'm not really used to shooting a 1911 yet.

The P229 has about 500 rounds through it so far and the finish is holding up great.  Cerakote seems to be really good stuff.

Here's a couple photos taken with my phone.  Notice the finish is a lot darker than it looks in Sig's photos (and most other photos you see) because they're usually taken with a flash.

I've dropped some serious coin on custom AR's and I spent nearly a decade working in the family gun shop, but I can't imagine spending more money on a 1911 and expecting anything better than this $920 (street price) Sig.

The only thing I don't like...the trigger feels surprisingly great, pull-wise (feels much lighter than the advertised 5 lbs), but the edges are a bit sharp and it gets annoying after 50 rounds or so. I'm either going to replace it with an STI polymer trigger or I'm going to try taking a file to the stock trigger to wear down the outer edges.

It's doing pretty well.  The front corners have a drop of holster wear, but really just a tiny drop.  One thing I noticed though, is that the paint on the right side safety is wearing off fairly quickly.  The way I carry it, that's the side that's against my body, and I seem to always place it down on that side, so that might be why.  There's a warranty on the finish (I think) so I may send it back to get redone at some point.
