I purchased a Remington R-1 a couple of months ago and have ran about 150-200 rounds through it. The last time I went to the range I ran off 6 of the seven rounds in the magazine. The slide locked open as it would when a magazine is spent, but this had a round in the chamber |

Do you shoot right or left handed? A friend of mine is a lefty and his forward thumb would ride on the pin of the slide stop causing premature slide lock due to pressure on the pin extending out of the reciever. We changed his grip a bit and he doesn't have problems anymore.
Round in the chamber, slide locked back. It sounds like a inertal feed from the mag. Does each mag follower have a dimple? The dimple is supposed to hold the last round on the follower long enough for the slide to complete its movement back, and then forward picking up the round and charging it into the chamber (overly simple explanation). It could be a poor tension/ clocking issue with the extractor, but that usually mangles the case. |
