| Hey all, I'm toying with the idea to get an RIA in 38 super. Can the sights be replaced with better ones? Is the dovetail of a conventional size? Thanks |
| Nope. Thats what I've been researching on another forum. I'm impressed with the overall reviews of RIA enough to order one as my next gun but it appears the dumbfucks designed the front sight dovetail as a bastard size so it will only take a Dawson Precision FS. This means I'm going to have to order a GI as opposed to a Tactical and mill the slide myself to accept the Wilson gold bead with a .300" x 60° male dovetail I want on there. Not sure if the Tactical female dovetail notch is smaller than that in which case I hopefully can just recut that. |

Or pick up a 9mm tactical and a 38 Super barrel, link, link pin and mags and have both!
I did a conversion on a Colt series 70 Government 9mm and runs great and I have less than $100 into the conversion and can run both. Sarco has the barrels for cheap, I think I paid like $45 for mine. |
