In the past I have owned Colt 1991A1's, Springfield Champion and the last 1911 I let go of was a RRA Limited Match....all I regret letting go.

I want another 1911, but I want one that does not have MIM parts and a good solid gun, I dont want to spend the funds for a LB, Wilson, EB and the likes...

I have not looked in a while at the 1911 market, any suggestions for a good solid 1911 with Novak style combat sights, commander or 5" length, basic solid gun with all machined parts.

My pistol collection is Glocks, Sigs and HK's at this time.

Any help in the right direction would be good.

Thanks,

All your current guns have MIM parts in them. Have they failed yet?

I think Colt has the fewest MIM parts.

Dan Wesson for all machined parts and I believe the Sigs only have 2 MIM parts.

I have heard that DW makes a great pistol. A friend of mine has the old DW pistol kit with different barrels and shrouds and it is a GREAT pistol, solid biult.

Will look into them

If he has the original DW revolver kit it is worth 2-3 times what he paid for it if he bought it new. I had a DW model 15 heavy vented revolver that I really regret selling.
