I have an upper end 1911 that has last round slide lock problems.
I posted this problem on this site and was advised to try a different follower. I took that advise and tried a ACT-MAG/PSI follower I had from a High Standard compact. It worked every time as my standard follower failed 50% of the time Question: where can I buy just followers from PSI ? |

That follower may have a slightly different angle, masking the real problem.
Disassemble the magazine and place one round under the spring before you reassemble it with the original follower. I am willing to bet it works just fine, and at that time you have proven you need a new spring because you have increased the spring timing with the extra round underneath it. |

Spring tension problem? No disrespect but these are supposed to be the best mags on the market. Well, by that same token, what makes you so willing to accept that they have bad followers? I already gave you a very simple way to verify what is 99% of the time the cause of your stated problem. You can take the advice or you can't. It doesn't make a bit of difference to me. |

I will try that, don't get me wrong. I just want my $2000 pistol to function like my $400 beater. I can run the same mags in my Philippine pos and I've never had the slide lock issue. |

Dimensional differences between the tow pistols is just enough to cause a problem. My cousin has a Phillipino High Standard that will not run with an ACT mag when his Colt runs fine. I would argue the statement about the ACT mags being the best on the market.
Same thing happened to some of my Tripp mags. It happens. Just buy new Wolf Springs, they only cost a few dollars. |
