Look around for a used kit.  That's how I found this one.

And if kept clean and wet, it runs great with CCI Mini-Mag's.

200 rnds using the same trigger and almost the same weight at the 9mm Commander (can't hurt to practice with it)

I'd bet it will feed Federal bulk pack after some breaking in... if not, a spare MSH with a 15# spring ought to do the trick.

How many rounds do you think "break in" might be?

I've run about 400 thru so far.

Meets my definition.

I'll try it again today with some the other .22 ammo I bought to begin with.

My kimber conversion runs quite a bit of different ammo just fine . I didn't try the other brands until I had run 300 or so rounds of Mini-Mags.

I have run this unit with a very light film of CLP but tend to use grease on the slide rails because this is what I have always used on my 1911.

On my Ceiner rim fire conversion for my AR I have found that oil just gums it up and across the board it runs much better with only silicone spray
The Ceiner is not fitted at all tight and I tend to run high volumes of ammo through it at a time and higher round counts between cleanings.

The CCI seems to have a bit more power than the bulk loadings but it isn't a huge difference and most guns that run on the CCI should run ok on one of the quality bulk
ammo brands.

Watch the Magazines with the 1911 conversions as far as keeping them clean . This is where a majority of the blow back filth ends up and a sticky magazine will
not allow the next cartridge to snap up to the proper positiion against the feed lips. No oil on magazines (just collects filth) use some type of dry lube, again I am a fan of spray silicone.

When I recommend spray silicone I am referring to the cheap stuff you find at the home store or discount auto parts for $3 a can
