Hey,

Does anyone have a exact measurement of a government or commander 1911 from the top of the slide (not including the sights) to the bottom tip of the frontstrap or flush magazine.

The measurement can be a bit misleading because the bottom of the frame is not parallel to the slide, but the distance from the bottom of the frontstrap to the top of the slide is 5.255" on my Colt Government.

If you can explain what you're trying to accomplish, maybe we can furnish more useful measurements.

I was curious how much longer the government/commander frames were compared to a officer frame.

1/2 inch. Possibly exactly .500" depending on manufacturer.

A Para Ordnance CCW (Officer with Commander Slide) measures 4.9" from top of the slide to the bottom of the frontstrap.
