I just received a Colt 1911 Gold Cup for Christmas and have a few questions (i know this has probably been posted already, but i did not return anything in a search)...what is the difference between .45ACP and .45Auto? Can I shoot both out of the pistol? The barrel is labeled with .45 auto and that is the amo they gave them at the gun store when they picked it up, however the clip says .45ACP

Some of them around here will get their panties in a bunch over that one.  Congrats on the new Pistole'! Damn fine weapon you got.  .45ACP and .45Auto are the same. Your good to go. Just dont try to load up a .45LC!
