Hello,

I was wondering what size/type of punches I would need to do a detail strip for a 1911(without any damages or scratches)

this seems excessive to me....:

A 1911 can be broken down with its own parts. that said 2 punches and a screwdriver helps.

Brownell's makes a multi-tool that has everything you could need to completely break down your 1911.  It has a punch, hex heads to remove the grips, and a flat head as well.  The removable screwdriver heads are magnetic as well so your screws won't go rolling across the table.
