I am looking at a local private sale for a 1911 Heritage Edition that has some, what I would call "normal wear" with a nice little idiot scratch as well. I know this is a semi limited edition Kimber, and I was wondering what I should expect to pay if I wanted it refinished, and I would be curious to know what would be a fair price for it? Thanks in advance for the help.

depends, might be something that can be satisfactorily touched up, might be something requiring a complete refinish...With Kimbers, even though the frame and slide might be carbon steel, the small parts, slide stop, thumb safety etc will likely be blackened stainless MIM, that can't be blued to match.

Complete refinish can be $85 to $200 depending on quality+ shipping both both ways.

Thanks. That's what I was looking for.

Or you come down to Utah on your vacation time and join us and refinish your own and pay only for required chemicals (approximately $20-$30 for a handgun).
