School me on this pistol. I haven't owned or been around Llama pistols in about 20 years. I am looking at a trade for one. Any info would be helpful.

My son had one he bought used for $250. I think he paid too much.
The slide was peened badly, like it was real soft.

a-bare

I'm sure there are examples that work reliably without jamming at least once per magazine and make their owners happy.  Mine didn't.

Llama is out of business.  Parts availibility is iffy and regular 1911 parts will not interchange.  Llamas can be decent pistols, but decent is about as high as they go and not all of them make that grade.  Unless it were $200 and a proven shooter, I couldn't get to excited about it.

I had one I bought new in 2005, just before Llama folded.  Bought it new at Academy with a 30% sale, paid $180.00 OTD.   I kept it for about six months, and could never get it to run without jamming every fifth or sixth round.  Tried new recoil springs, polished the feed ramp, used different mags, and it still failed to feed.  I had to leave the grips loose on it as the grip frame caved inward if tightened, and the mags wouldn't drop or release.   I finally gave up on it and gave it to my son, who traded it at a gun show a few months later.

Run, don't walk from it...........

Thanks to all.

I am running away from this "deal".
