Thanks for catching that FortyFive,
Hammer is C&S and part of C&S ignition group. I tell the guys going "Cadillac" is C&S kits. Hammer hooks and sears are machine honed, my triggers come to close using German ruby stone but just short of C&S. C&S if pricing complete ignition set out is a very good value. Included in kits are, Hammer Disconnector Sear Tuned sear spring Appropriate main spring. Kits are CNC machined within plus or minus .0005 from special alloy steel billet and heat treated to Rc 50\55. |

Again. Thanks to you all for compliments. Mark's pistol was a lot of fun to do.
There's another Springfield soon to be finished. It belongs to Wesley who is an Army Scout, 1st Cav. His Springfield was the older, blockier Embel receiver that we sent to Springfield's custom shop for radius work on front strap and dust cover. While there the guys did 20 lpi checkering. My big mistake was not fitting an Ed Brown grip safety, opting instead for Wilson's billet grip safety. Tangs have been welded up so grip safety retain it's full look. All I can say is it's been an experience and a lesson in the finer art of brazing silver solder with a micro torch. I sware, the next two pistols in que will not require welding. These will be a Commander in .38 super using an old Colt slide and STI receiver. Afterwards is a Colt 10mm slide that's planned for a Wilson receiver. Anyways, this is a hobby. I can't believe you guys dug this old thread up. Thanks Again !! |
