I know EB makes good products, just wonder if anyone has used this product?  Considering adding this to my Springfield Armory and Kimber 1911s.   Only downside will be buying new magazines.

Should look like this once I get it all sorted out.

I haven't use the Ed Brown but have a couple Smith & Alexanders that I like a lot. I would rather use the one piece S&A vs. any of the two piece magwells. One less screw to come loose and I like the straight line of the S&A all the way to the bottom of the grip.

Have one on an STI Trojan. Seems decent. Put a drop of Loctite on the screw to be sure.

I put one on a buddies 1911.  Its a magwell.  Not really much else to say about it.  I do prefer my nighthawk falcon though as its one piece, but with loctite doesnt really matter I guess.

+1 for Smith and Alexander.

They have several options: arched, flat, regular, slim, blued. stainless, and w/wo lanyard loop. Plus its one piece.

I opted for the S&A one.  I forgot I had a set of Slim Grips on order, and went this route since S&A offered a slim grip version.

I put the EB maxi well in mine but it's a two piece part for mine. I actually decided that I didn't like the mag well part so I removed it with the allen screw so now I just have a nice flat MSH.

I just got the Ed Brown Maxi-well and installed it on my SW1911.  As others have said, it's a mag well...  It fit, wasn't jacked up, looks nice, and was easy to install.  After looking at a number of magwells, I actually prefered the look of the Ed Brown.  The smith and alexander is also nice.  I mean, it's a mag well...  Just get the one you think looks the best with whatever grips you plan to get. I went with some VZ ETC grips...

I used the EGW two-piece on a Spartan. Nice little mortise and tenon to ensure it doesn't shift, which I thought was a nice touch.

I put a 2-piece EB MSH w/Maxiwell on my Kimber Raptor several years ago.  It's a great product.

Had one on my Kimber, and I have one on my Ed Brown. I like them. Never handled a S&A one, but the Brown well is a fine product.

Looking forward to pics.   For future consideration; if you like a one-piece design, Kimber's Arched MSH is a solid piece and the checkering is aggressive, but comfortable.

Got my mainspring housing and well today.  Turns out the slim grips with the slip style screws and bushings won't tighten down enough.  I did a jury rig job by putting a business card underneath.  It allowed the grips to tighten down but the screws were a little too long.

I ordered a couple shims from alumigrips.  Hopefully this works.  I'll get pictures when I get it all sorted out.

You may want to consider picking up some super small "o" rings from the hardware store; they can work wonders on creating a nice tight fit and preventing the grip screws from backing out too.

Yeah I thought about picking up a couple of those.  Probably would have solved my issues of not tightening down enough.  I have a couple shims on order from Alumigrips.  Great guy and got back to my email at 11pm.

Bought 3 Wilson Combat 8rd mags as well.  Man I can't believe I've gone through life without ever owning them.  These mags absolutely rock vs the factory ones.
