With weapon thumb safety on and hammer cocked should trigger move at all?

yes, but hammer will not fall, even when saftey is placed off. if it does get pistol fixed.

Maybe just the way you worded your question, but just to be sure....the thumb safety should engage ONLY when the hammer is cocked.  And to answer the question, no, the trigger should not move.  Not that it should be as if welded in place, but no discernible movement.  It shouldn't move with the hammer down and thumb safety disengaged either.

thumb saftey does not stop pretravel of the trigger. triger will move untill it hits the sear.

Okay, now I'm confused.  I'm assuming this is while pistol is being gripped.

That I understand.  It's not much movement though.  I guess I'm assuming the OP is experiencing more significant movement.

if thumb saftey not fit right, when you pull the trigger then let go of the trigger and place the thumb saftey in the off postion. a incorect fit thumb saftey will allow the hammer to fall.

Hammer cocked, grip safety depressed, thumb safety on.trigger has a good amount
of movement in+out but hammer never falls unless I release thumb
safety.

What I'm getting is Alot of pretravel. All safeties are working as they should.
I read a article in the rifleman and it said that the trigger shouldn't move
with the safety on.The pretravel is bothering me now.I never noticed it
tip I read this article.......LOL

The trigger shouldn't move full travel, just, as stated, the slack (pre-travel), which shouldn't be much.

Some triggers have two metal tabs on the front of the triger bow for adjusting pretravel and a set screw for adjusting overtravel.

If it really bugs you

perhaps another answer to the question- with safety engaged pull trigger. then take safety off- if gun stays cocked that is the key thing- some slop in trigger (which in no way is affected by safety engagement) is fine as long as it passes this functions check
