If it does not thread onto the barrel, save your money.

The ONLY use I ever found for a compensated 1911 was when I shot bowling pins. I had a factory compensated Springfield Armory Defender Carry Comp with a dual chamber comp that was permanently attached to the barrel. AWESOME weapon. BUT....to get the most benefits from a comp, you HAVE to shoot HOT ammo. The 'bushing comps' are all HYPE, IMO.

I bought one of those comps in your link many years ago when the SS version was sold on eBay for $35 from the same company. This was when I first got into 1911s and even then, I felt it wasn't that great of design. IMO, the benefits is the added weight but because its attached to the slide, it also effects the cycling. I never shot my 1911 with it on and never will. The real deal is the King's Compensator kit w/barrel that I think was discontinued even though its still in their website catalog.

You can get barrel threaded comps from a host of other manufs. EGW is one that comes to mind. A GS can thread a std 5" barrel for a comp in no time.

I basically meant that the one in the OP's link is suppose to mimic the King's Comp shape.
