hi guys,
looking to purchase a high-end 1911. have my eye on a les baer premier ii. recently talked to a friend and he said to look at sti. i called them and asked them what they considered an equal of a LB premier ii. a rep from sti told me to look at there sentinel premier. they said they won`t claim les baer`s 3in at 50 yds. grouping but that it would out shoot most people`s aim.

do you guys have any experience or knowledge of this particular 1911?  thanks for any info. i don`t want to know about kimber or the really expensive ed brown 1911`s. so if you can keep it to sti i would really appreciate it.

STI builds very nice single stack guns.

still not decided yet. i think i read somewhere in this site ( another forum ) that one or two posters said that their sti`s only liked very few types of ammo. lot of FTE`S and feeds. the sti sentinel is pretty much the same price as the baer premier and at that $, i want no problems. i`ve read too many reviews and from people who have les b`s and their guns rarely malfunction.

anyone hear of the sti`s malfunctions?  although i will say that the posters with the malfunction never said which model they had. maybe it was a cheaper model.

hey guys, can`t seem to make up my mind again. got an email from ozark guns recommending a dan wesson valor. after comparing a premier ii, kimber super match ii, sentinel, now i`m thinking the valor.
talked to keith lawton from dan wesson-cz and he really sold me on it. the only thing i don`t like about it is that it does not have an adjustable target rear sight. but he said to go to kensight and i could get a rear sight for it from them and it would not need any milling or grinding for fitting a bo-mar type sight.

any of you know much about the valor?
thanks!

I have 2, and they are exceptional guns.  They have proved to have excellent accuracy (real testing, not just theory), and their fit and finish is that of a pistol costing hundreds more.  They are on par with Baer and are knocking on the door of the more expensive semi-customs.

I am sure everyone has a different opinion, but here is mine.  I have had Springfields, Kimbers, Colts, and Dan Wessons.  But currently the only 1911 I still have is a Les Baer.  And I wouldnt have it any other way.  The Baer is one of the guns that will never be sold.

The perfect 1911 is a very personal thing.  What I think makes a great 1911 might not be the same for you.  I commend you for doing all the necessary research before you make the purchase.  I have a habit of researching these things till my eyes cross .  The best suggestion that I can give you is to check out this website if you havent already.   http://forums.1911forum.com/   There is alot of great information and pic threads over there.  And different subforums for the different 1911 manufacturers.

Good luck!!
