While I was hunting for a new CCW gun I was ideally wanting something in black. What I could find though with my specifications ended up being a two tone gun. So the question is what would be the best way to finish my Kimber super carry pro? I have seen and heard great things about cerakote, but I don't know of anyone near me who does it. I had also thought about sending the gun to Kimber and having them re-coat the frame, barrel, and small parts.

So what does the hive think? I was thinking under $200 would be a fair price, and I would prefer a shop I could hand it off to in central or SW MO or near the Chicago area.

Are there any limitations to refinishing an aluminum frame? Also will coating the barrel, trigger, everything raise costs?

Business end customs does cerakote.  They are a site sponsor on 1911addicts and have a promotion till the end of the month for forum members over there
I don't recall where they are located but could be something to look into
