I just recently have been reading about the 460 Rowland conversion for the 1911...............I've got the fever for one......Seems like a badass 1911.

Anybody have any experience with one?

Never shot one, but I know of a collection of .460's. They are still in great shape even after 20 + yrs of firing. All of his were built on Colt or GI frames. He has mentioned extensively that the frame needs to be of know good quality.

Is it a lengthened 45 ACP case? And feeds from standard mags?

Yes the case is 1/16 of a inch longer and the web is beefed up, the peak for the pressure is 40,000 CUP so it has to be able to handle that. Starline makes the brass.

It also feeds from a regular magazine.

Here is some good info on it Click me
