The GI and El Comandante have been rumored for a while. The GI is a gubment length .45, and the El C is a 4.25" 9mm. Guess they're finally out.

I don't know if I like the rollmarks, but I could get over them.

They both have a pretty cool classic 1911 look to 'em. ***EDIT*** I like the vertical slide serrations.***EDIT***

Be interesting to read the reviews when they start coming. (dependability and such)

I've never owned an STI, but as far as I know they have a good reputation.

Thanks for the pics, it's always nice to know what's out there.

How are these any different than the current RIA offerings?

I don't particularly like the rollmarks either.

My guess would be like the other comparables STI has some upgraded internals.  I would love that 9mm except for rollmark!!

Oh, are these Philippine made like the RIA?  (not knocking Philippine guns)

Philippine made to STI specs, with STI internals, like the Spartan.

Why can no one make rollmarks with class?

I'd almost rather have no markings at this point.

I don't know if I'd buy either of these. Being an owner of a Spartan, those two guns look like stripped down version at a higher price. I am very happy with my Spartan as it is.
