So I know everyone gets sick of these VS. threads but I didn't see a good answer for this one anywhere...

I'm looking for a good no B.S. comparison between Springfield's TRP and Sig's Tactical Operations.  I've fondled both of these guns but have not had the chance to throw lead down range...  I'd really like to hear from guys who've owned or shot both and can give me an assesment as to which offers the greatest value for the money.

Thanks in advance and happy shooting!

I don't own those specific guns but have a SIG and a Springfield.  The SIG is the Scorpion model and the Springfield is a loaded PX9152LP.  I haven't had the SIG for very long yet but at this point I wouldn't hesitate to buy another as it is a damn nice 1911 that has restored my faith in a platform that the Springfield had taken away.  I will never buy another Springfield product.

I have both guns.
I bought my Sig first over the TRP, It was the better deal.
I just recently bought a TRP.
Looking over both of them the internals of the sig are not mim parts all nice and polished.
The TRP may be have tighter slide to frame fit.
finishes on both are excellent.
Triggers on both are great break clean and light.
Accuracy wise they are both right where you want them to be.
IMHO I feel they are as close to equal as 2 guns can be.
With that said Springfield does have the greatest CS but the price is much higher.
Sig is cheaper dollar wise and CS experience i've deal with is just fine also.
You cant go wrong with either.
I'm currently waiting to but the Sig 1911 in 9mm.

Have no experience with either, but after reading a bit about the Sig I want to find one in a shop to get a good look at it. I'm a big SA fan, but I may as well see how I like the Sig before I spend any money. I was going to buy a SA Loaded parkerized model, but that Sig really intrigues me.

I have read several other threads about the Sig's and am getting conflicting info regarding how many MIM parts there are...

I owned a TacOps and sold it after failure to feed issues.  The pistol was having trouble feeding the first round from any model of magazine even when full pull slide racking.  Trigger was good enough but not a crisp as my TRP.  Accuracy was acceptable, still no TRP though.  Beveled mag well was helpful but bottom line if the first round out of a fresh mag would not feed I couldnt keep it.  I heard bad things about SIG service and the dealer took it back instead of having to send it in.

Sig 1911's a gamble for $300 - 400 less?

IMO SA is more of a gamble.  Quite a few lemons out there judging from the posts on the boards and my own experience with SA which has been a total lemon since I got it.
