Finally decided it was time to get a 1911. I put 100 rounds of fmj and 20 rounds hp through it a few days ago, no problems yet.
I was only shooting from about 15 yards, but it seems pretty accurate. Any suggestions on owb/iwb holster, I don't plan on carrying a light on the gun.
Oh, and if it wasn't already hard enough to find a holster for a railed 1911......I'm a lefty.

Nice.  I put 1100 rounds through mine in about 10 days with one cleaning at the 400 round point.  Twice the slide failed to close all they way at the very end.  The feed ramp was gummed up pretty bad by that point.

Would a Serpa work for your purposes?  Im betting they would have what you need in the inventory.

Galco has a leather holster for the Colt rail gun, delivery in late september.  Im assuming that would work for the Operator.

I just checked galco's website, I think the colt rail gun holster would work.
I'm thinking I want to stay with leather, so the serpa might be a last option.

Leather is always my first choice as well.

My lady friend is a lefty.  She needed an XDM holster for a concealed carry class on short notice, Serpa delivered.

So I know your pain.

Nice gun! I really like mine but I had to send it back to Springfield. I has some pretty serious ftfeed problems during a pistol class so back it went. I wish mine had the bushing barrel and GI setup like yours instead of the bull barrel. I think that will be the next bit of cash I throw at the gun.

thanks for the kind words,  JohnnyC do you have the trp operator?  I've never seen a bull barrel on a non trp model.

The lightweight operator is an awsome gun.  I actually like it and shoot it better than my TRP.  I have about 2,000 rounds through mine and not on hiccup.  Also the railed guns will work in the serpa, but not in some leather holsters.  The weight difference is just icing on the cake when you carry it all day.

Nope, LW Champion Operator. Bull barrel plain as day.

JohnnyC, i bought a trp operator w/fitted nowlin barrel w/bushing but haven't fired it yet.
SA has a link on their site listing services/prices.
another option is a local smith(saves on shipping costs, ~$100); i plan to use a local guy for some future mods.
sweet gun!

eta
my trp came w/a bull originally.

Just picked up an MC Operator myself, it should be here in a couple of days.  I bought "The Answer" a couple of years ago for a railed 1911, but haven't ever checked to see if it would fit.  I have the same holster for my XD and I love it, but the similar offering from Comptac is cheaper.

Thanks for all the advise!! I took Anthem-Firearms advise and visited winthrop holsters today since I only live about a half hour away.
I ended up ordering a iwb leather with shark skin accents. Now comes the 2-3 week wait till it's ready.
Winthrop has a pretty nice store front where you can see all his work.
He also  make some very nice gun belts and magazine holders.
He can make just about anything you want. He was showing me some alligator, stingray, and snake leather that he just got in.
It will interesting to see how he uses that, I'll post some pics when I get it.
