I only have one 1911. It's a Springfield GI model given to me by a friend.
I'd like to get a few more mags for the weapon but I don't know which brands I should be looking at. Looking to keep the GI style, no bumpers, extra capacity or the like. Who do you recommend? TIA DV |

What do you want to feed your gun with? FMJ/ball ammo? 200gr LSWC? JHP?
I thought all mags were the same, then I read this: http://how-i-did-it.org/magazines/ That being said, I've had no failures with my stock Springer 7 round mags. I will probably grab some more, when the price is right. |

No need to spend a lot on mags. Contact Springfield. Their standard 7 rd mags are great for what it sounds like you want and I just received 10 for 9.00 a piece |

No affiliation to the Joe's mag guy, but those are my pics of them on that thread.....and they are holding up. I am thinking of getting another 10 as I have a RIA Match 45 on 10 day California wait right now for my son and will need more mags too. I probably have a couple thousand rounds thru 6 of them mags so far with no issue. I sold 4 to my neighbor, but I don't think he has had any shooting time to test his out yet. |
