Found a Colt Delta Elite at the local fun shop. The gun has seen better days. There is a quite a bit surface rust on the gun and the bluing is worn pretty well. Normally I'd shy away from a gun in this condition, but they're asking $570, which I thought was a pretty good deal. What do you think, is it worth the extra money needed to refinish etc? Sorry I guess I should clarify I haven't bought this. I'm also keeping my eye out for a used Glock 20. |

Yeah they usually have some interesting pieces in the used display case. That place is murder on my bank account. The delta was in pretty rough shape though wasn't it? Yep, mine too. I might as well just direct deposit half my check to them and be done with it.
It was in pretty rough shape IMO, though I think it would be worth fixing up, or at least giving it a good scrubbing and getting the surface rust off for that nice 'field' look. I held it but wasn't able to look at the bore, so that is a big unknown for me. Since you posted here first, have at it, cause I was thinking about picking it up, depending on the bore. Though if you decide not to get it, let me know! |

Honestly I'd have to sell something off to have the money for it, so have at it. I think I might be able to find a 10mm glock for a little less. Not LE or MIL? You could buy a BNIB Glock 20 there for less than that Delta Elite. True, but G20s are easier to find than Deltas; Just saying. |

Check the frame carefully, with a magnifying glass, and look for cracks. Look especially closely for cracks around the slide stop hole and slide rails.
That may be one of the older pistols that tended to suffer from cracks- and you don't want to find out too late. From the amount of wear it sounds like an older model. Check it. Jim |
