Been looking at these two pistols for a while now.

Any thoughts on differences between the two? Recommendations?

Thanks

gunsite all the way- a limited production from Colt with nice features and all USA made unlike the SA.

I might be wrong but I thought the "loaded" models were made in the US.

A better comparison for the pricepoint is the SA TRP vs GunSite.

I know a bunch of happy TRP owners-including myself. I have not personally handled/seen a Colt GS.

+1.  I have a couple of TRPs and love them all.  I dont think you could go wrong with either though.

I vote Gunsite but I agree on the TRP, the comparison to the Loaded is not fair.

A new Gunsite Colt can still be had from the Gunsite store for $1200.  Thy were originally sold for $1600 when they were issued. They're handsome pieces, but nothing special in terms of fit and finish.  A new TRP will run $1400 +/- and probably is better fit and more accurate than the Colt, but that's a guess.

The Gunsite Colt is a little unique and a handsome weapon.  Its certainly is a cut above a SA Loaded, but probably would fall short of a TRP in terms of fit, finish, and function, but TRPs are pretty common. The TRP is a couple hundy more, so take your choice.

I like Colts, but a customer ordered a pair of the Gunsite pistols... These samples seemed very very similar to a loaded in terms of fit. I'd rather have an MC operator.

Better prices are available for the TRP.  I bought by second last month for ~ $1100.

Highly recommend the TRP as one of the finest 1911's on the market for value and function.

Any of you guys voting for the Colt actually have one?

Here is my TRP smacking some "Zombies N Looters" in a recent 3gun match.

For colletor purposes, investment purpose, pride of ownership... COLT/GUNSITE all the way!!!!!

If above criterias not important, whichever you can get a good deal on!!
