Yea I think I got mine for $480 before tax..
Mine has had a consistent loading problem but it has finally been resolved after some gun smithing many rounds, and a new recoil spring & extractor BUT, other than that, it has been a really straight shooter. Very accurate, very badass. I love this gun. Its my 24/7 car carry I took off the U.S. grips and put on black rubber Hogue grips but just recently got the Springfield Armory "cross cannons" grips, I love em. Darker wood than the U.S. and a cool logo on them The parkerized finish is coming off on mine and getting a very cool, worn look. |

Yes, not bad. They are a basic 1911, but a good one. My 1st 1911 was a SA GI 5" full size, I liked it enough that my next one was a GI Micro Compact. They were the first of many 1911's, but I still have and shoot both. Beware, the 1911 "sickness" can be as bad as Blk Rifle syndrome.....
On a side note, at one point I started to upgrade the GI's with triggers, hammers and beaver-tail grip safeties. I didn't like the changes and put them back to stock configuration. I decided if I wanted a modified / updated 1911 to just buy one. I have both types now, enjoy them for what they are. Nice choice. |
