| I want to get a new 1911(.45) but unlike ar15s I dont know what company is producing the best product for the money in terms of warantees and qc. My budget is $1300 I was looking at smith and wessons. |

Colt Railgun Springfield MC Operator, Range Officer or TRP S&W E series only Though my first choice in that price range would be looking for a used Les Baer ETA: a used les baer premier II sold recently in the EE for $1250 & there's a used Thunder Ranch Special for sale as well. |

For 1300 you're almost looking at being up into the higher end "custom" or at least "semi-custom" guns
Not that Colt, Springfield, etc aren't good... But for that much money you can get REALLY good if you shop around ETA: That said, out of the choices you listed, I picked Springfield (TRP, Operator, RO) |
| for a budget of 1300, theres a lot of good 1911s in your price range. I'd definitely suggest a dan wesson. I went that route with my first 1911, with a budget slightly smaller than yours and picked up a used valor. This thing is sweeetttt. Very well made, very accurate, and has all the features I was looking for. This thing was hard to track down though, waited roughly a year after i decided to grab one before I could actually obtain one (either there were no used valors for sale or someone else picked it up first), but if you dont wanna spend the time to search and wait, I'd highly recommend a heritage model. Very nice, very well made. I'm probably going to buy one once my gun funds reach that high - you can buy one new for about 1100. |

Quoted: How about the new Ruger SR1911? Nothing like suggesting something that isn't even on the market yet ![]() If $1300 is a hard maximum, I'd be looking at a TRP, Dan Wessson Valor, MC Operator, and Colt Rail Gun. If it can be bumped up a little, I'd be looking for a new Valor or something from Les Baer (base models in the $1600 range). |

Quoted: Fuck it man, my next 1911 is going to be a Ruger!!!! After that a Sig P220 Match SAO ![]() I gave serious thought to buying a Sig P220 SAO. I love the way they fit in my hands and having shot a few, I really like them a lot. But, the mags are stupid expensive and frankly, the Sig provides nothing that I don't already get with my 1911s. If they were double stack or polymer framed I could see a benefit. But, as is, they are just super expensive pistols and mags. |

Yeah, they're just like a 1911, except with more muzzle flip and a worse trigger.
