Hey all!

So I picked up a few (3) Wilson 47d magazines after a lot of recommendations.  I put them into my full size bone stock RIA and lock the slide back.  I try to bring it back forward like I normally do and it wont budge.  I release the mag and it drops free.  I test all three and they all do this.  In order to get the slide to come back forward, I have to pull the slide back a little and push the slide release.

I don't have to do this with any of my other magazines which are a couple Chip McCormick match series, a Mec Gar, and the factory mag.  So what gives?

Thanks for any help and replies.

Are you doing this with an empty mag?

Yes, I was.  It's been a long day.  I think it's time to put everything away and call it a night.

Nothing to see here people, move along.

I did the same thing(had the same thing happen) in a gunshop one time. I was like WTF

Took me a second to figure out the empty mag was the reason.  have fun.  BD

Same here. Guy behind the counter grabbed a 1911 and just handed it to me. I said to myself, "okay,
he didn't clear it, so I will, and make him look stupid." I pulled back the slide, checked the chamber,
and tried to let the slide forward. It wouldn't move. I tried to slingshot it a couple times, before the
guy finally said "you have to drop the mag." "Oops, I know, i just didn't realize it had a mag in."
Real thorough job clearing, I didn't even notice there was a magazine in the gun. Needless to say
I didn't buy anything.

I tried to disassemble a 1911 with the mag still in it once. In front of the customer. Got too used to the giant basepads, and this was a GI type magazine, didn't even see it.

Yup, that's why I didn't notice too, used to wilsons or novaks with a big basepad, GI mag in the pistol
