Colt 100th Anniversary 1911 for keepsake  or
Sig Sauer 1911 Scorpion to burn powder?

UPDATE: After research I've decided on the new Ruger SR1911. Will be in my hands next week. Plan on burning much powder.

I voted Colt, but I would buy one and shoot it. I don't own any guns that are safe to shoot that have never been shot.

If you're going to put it away, might as well get two consecutive serial numbers.

The only safe queen I have is my great-grandad's old shotgun.  Everything else gets shot, and sometimes I even shoot the heirloom piece.

Guns exist to be shot, otherwise they're an insanely expensive paperweight.

No paper is blowing around in here.

Colt, but do not put it away, it's a new gun , not a collector. Shoot it.

another vote for colt and shoot it.
I shoot all the guns I own that are safe to do so(a couple antiques with mechanical issues or damascus barrels ar ethe only exception.)
I even shoot my 1st generation antique single actions a couple times a year- carefully.

Sig 1911=, Colt all the way. And don't put it away and never shoot it, that would be a terrible waste of a pistol, Shoot it every chance you get!

I don't own guns I won't shoot.

I'd say get the Colt and shoot the shit out of it.

Yes, get the Colt. The Sig's slide doesn't even look like a 1911 to me. I've heard good things about them and would and probably will own one someday though.
