I have a springer gi with alot of slack in the trigger before it breaks. Is there a way to take out the take up?

I don't think so.  That extra slack, or lack of it if there is none, is due to the length of the trigger bow.  I know C&S triggers advertise slightly longer trigger bows to reduce the take up in the trigger.  I replaced the trigger in my SW1911 with a C&S Solid Long trigger because the factory trigger was loose and jingled around.  The C&S trigger fixed that issue.

yes, a few ways to take out pretravel.

Some triggers have two tabs you can adjust others, you lay on materail on the front of the bow and remove the material to set the correct amount of pretravel.

If you're thinking about playing with your trigger I strongly recommend taking it to a professional unless you think you're patient enough to sift through all of youtube videos and don't plan on shooting for awhile.

Replacing a trigger is not the same as a trigger job.
