I'm looking to buy a few additional 8 round magazines for my new S&W E Series 1911TA and I could use some suggestions as to which to get and where to get them.

BTW, the original 2 factory magazines that shipped with the pistol are blued steel  8 round ACTs.

I ran 150 rounds through the gun yesterday  and had 5 failure to feeds; 3 of which happened during the firing of 100 rounds of 230 grain PMC Bronze ball and 2 occurred while shooting 50 rounds of RA 45B.

Four of the failures to feed happened with one magazine and only one occurred with another so I'm hoping some better magazines might do the trick although the number of rounds I fired and the 2 magazines I used are really too small a sample to tell me much.

Otherwise; the gun shot extremely accurately and was very pleasant to shoot.

I don't know much about the platform at all so all suggestions are welcome.

Wilson Combat. Midway USA has sales.

I have some SS C Product 8rd mags I like for the price, but I had to put new springs in them.

Nice looking pistol.  I have had great success with Wilson Combat 47D magazines.  Never a problem. They are also easier to load than the stock mags that came with my Springfield Armory 1911. The 47Ds and Chip McCormick power mags both have a loyal following on this and other forums.

Thanks guys, I just ordered 2 Wilson Combat 47D magazines from Midway and we'll see where that takes me.

They should be here on March 29th and I won't waste any time trying them out.

Have 4, 8 round magazines that I have kept loaded 24\7 for right at two years.

I like to test and try things and the only data I truly rely on is self generated.

2 mags are Tripp Cobras. 1 spring got weak and was replaced for free, including shipping. Other than one spring they have been 100%.

1 Wilson ETM, 1 failure to feed and I don't know that the mag was to blame.

1 Wilson 47d. It was shipped with a weak spring, Wilson replaced free of charge, including shipping. No issues since, except spring is noticably weaker now but feeds fine.

I now have a total of 5 Tripps, 2,eight round and 3,ten round.

3 Wilson ETM 8 rounders and the one 47d. Have no reason to buy another 47d. After spending time with both ETM and 47d. ETM is a true 8 round magazine and to date has performed as well as Tripps.

I like Tripp magazines and you can buy their upgrade kits to upgrade  those S&W mags to Tripp springs and followers, makeing them very reliable.
I have one Wilson 47D that works everytime, I will try out some ETM's but my goto mags are Tripp.
