Last Saturday I was in the local police supply shop to see some of the advertised police trade in Glocks. The used counter was pretty deep and not being very patient, I wandered over to where a few Colts were on display, they had the blue XSE pushed to the back of the display case and I had them pull it so I could look it over.
All I can say is "WOW", it took a whole 5 secounds to relize that it was going home with me; they really did a nice job with the XSE.
I haven't bought a new Colt in many moons, the last one was a "Combat Target" from "95/96?"; and the XSE is way ahead of it fit and finish wise.
We got out the door for right @ 1K, I guess that's a good price (Lou's is always pretty good on price.).
Last Sunday I took it to local public range and broke it in with 100 rounds of Fiocchi Ball, 100 rounds WWB Ball and 50 rounds of Ranger 230gr SXT, a touch low (1") and right (1") at 25 yds; I know I was grinning from ear to ear with the groups @ 15 & 25 yds, even the RO asked was I going to frame a couple of the targets. I was impressed how well it shot right out of the box.
The only issue was the grips losened up during the range session.
I have to ask, when did Colt start making pistols like this again??? Very well done.
I'm not sure what the internet consensus is on the XSE is, but I am quite pleased.
Thanks

Sweet deal, congrats!

I replaced the stock grips right away on my  new Colt O7000D, but a little thread lock will help.
It's my first Colt pistol, so I don't know what they were like before, but it's top notch.

Now pics or GTFO!

How in the hell do you post pictures???
Just saved them to the desk top.
Damn I hate all of this technology crap.
Frustrated "Luddite"
Any help is appreciated.

while in your album, put the cursor over the picture and a drop down menu will appear. click the line for the image code, and the text will be copied. paste that text into your post and walla!

The XSE is a great buy. I got mine a few weeks ago and I have been very happy with it. 100% reliable. Acceptable trigger, and great feel in the hand. The trigger has gotten better with use. At first it was a bit heavy and had some creep, but now it seems to be better with about 250rds fired. I still have not decided if I will send it out for a trigger job, or put in a C&S drop-in kit.

I just put on some VZ Alien grips today in Military Brown and they look wonderful, very grippy.

Interesting that your XSE shot to the right too. Another member posted the same thing about his. Mine was about 2" to the right. I was able to adjust my sights to correct that.

Old pic. I just replaced the grips this morning.

Learn from me, don't ever sell it. I miss mine terribly.

I think you made up my mind. I have been mulling over the Colt XSE or S&W. I like them both but your review has about swung me to over to Colt for good. Thanks for the info and the pictures.

I really like my XSE, good shooter and a very sold piece.
I think I am going to take mine out this afternoon and put a box through it.

Just back from shooting my XSE again this morning, very happy with the results @ 15 and 25yds with WWB 230 ball, and Ranger 230 HP.
If all the new COLT products are like this, my SA Champion is going to make room for a "Commander"; the question is now Blue or SS?
Just as an FYI, I called Colt to let them know that the 2 mags that came with the XSE had rusty finger prints that 0000 steel wool and hoppes wouldn't remove (no big deal as I use 47D mags), just wanted to give thier QC people a heads up. The helpful young lady, took my info and she is sending two replacement mags.....good customer service.
YMMV
