Looking at some new grip panels for my 1911.

Question: if I see some that I like but they are not cut out for an ambi-safety, is there some way they can be modified?  Dremel some material off of the inside surface of the right grip panel maybe?

Thoughts or advice from anyone with knowledge about this is appreciated.

Material is "faux ivory" so probably like a hard plastic.

Thanks.

ETA: I contacted the maker, and he is going to make the cuts for me.  Thanks for the reply.  Thread can be deleted.  Thank you.

I don't see why not.

Some cheap grips might be hollow or something I guess, in which case you'd have to seal them up afterwards, but I haven't seen any like that.

Dremel will work fine on plastic, just use a low speed and go slow so you don't overheat and melt the plastic.
