| found a 70 series Colt Combat Commander at local shop its finish is lightly worn off at muzzle of slide. Was wondering if you all think its worth 699.00 as thats the asking price |

To me it might, I like the non 80 series of Commander, rounded slide and all. If you can get it for $600, that would make it really good deal. You might catch a bit of flak with the series 70. There aren't any series 70, it's series 80, or pre series 80 to a good number of folks.

I paid $600 for an all original pre-80 CC. The finish was/is satin nickel which was a mess but cleaned up nicely. Blued is the preferred finish in my opinion, but I didn't have any choice.
$600––$700 is a good price provided there's no rust and everything is original and it hasn't been unprofessionally messed with. There are some good replacement sight options which retain the original "look" , but really enhance the shootanility |

I remember my first keyboard raping on arfcom for calling my Combat Commander that has a serial number beginning with 70S a 70 series. Live and learn, I guess. Yeah, you learned that the serial number had nothing to do with the "Series". I learned that what was written on the box trumps what was engraved on the pistol. Still seems odd to me. |

Quoted: It can be. Colt made series number changes that are not consistent . Some concern safety systems and some concern barrels and barrel bushings.
