I have a Kimber Stainless Target II and was looking to replace the sights with fixed sights as I would like to start carrying it.
I know Kimber has their own sight cut and I would like to avoid buying a cutter to mill a different sight cut. I noticed the slide was milled under the rear sight. Is this for the target sights only, or on all Kimber sight cuts? Also, does anyone have any recommendations on sights you guys like and why? Thanks |
| I prefer an all black rear and either FO front or Tritium. On a lot of my 1911's that come with Triji's, i replace just the rear with a 10-8. I also like WC's new ultimate speed site and Heine's Ledge. I like having a rear sight that can be racked off of a holster or hard object. I dont anticipate ever being wounded and having to manipulate my gun with one hand, but my guns are setup this way, just in case i need to. |

I've always preferred a front sight that REALLY draws my eye and a subdued rear.
On my 1911s I use a Novak rear with tritium bar only and a front with a tritium vial and a bright white outline. The daytime sight picture looks like a white dot front and plain rear.... in lower light it looks like a dot over a dash For my Glocks I recently fell in love with the Ameriglo HACK sight setup.... These are promoted by Ken Hackathorn and are the ideal setup in my eyes |

Kimber has their own sight cuts for FIXED sights, the rear adjustable sight on the Target II is either an LPA or BoMar cut. you can get a fixed rear sight from John Harrison that will fit.
