I'm going to order a Caspian frame and slide with the Series 80 Cut for a home build, but what extra components do I need to make the firing pin block functional? I can't find anything on Brownells or Midway that looks like it's what I need.
Thanks. |

May I be so bold as to ask "why?"
If you're building it yourself, for yourself, why are you electing to put in a safety system that most consider to be vestigial at best, and a detriment at worst? Unfortunately, I can't really help you with finding the parts... except to say may SAW (Specialized Armament Warehouse) who stocks a lot of Colt OEM parts, but I'm truly curious as to why you're building from the ground up with a Series 80 system? I don't particularly have anything against it in Colts, mind you, but I would never add it by choice... ~Augee |

do you want the 80 series stuff in there? if not, you can get a blanking panel to remove the levers and then use 70 Series slide internals.
you'll need an 80 series grip safety. if you look in the Colt area of brownells, you should be able to find the small parts. |
| I guess I'm confused as to what the issue(s) with the series 80 safety is. Does it cause reliability issues or something else? My initial reasoning is that I would prefer a pistol with a firing pin block as opposed to one without. Is there a better firing pin block design available? |
