I have an unreasonable hankering for a .38 Super El Cen, get a 2nd 9mm barrel for diversity,  and fit a beavertail.

I can live with the sights fine, love the lines and simplicity of everything else, but I do love a good fitting beavertail.

Since it's bright stainless and not nickel, I wonder how hard it would be to get the beavertail and frame tangs polished up enough to match the rest of the pistol?  I wonder who would be good to do that?

Oh yeah, I wanted one as well.  They are hard to find right now since Colt isn't currently making them.  According to Colt, they may or may not be producing them again next year - have to wait for the SHOT show to find out.  At any rate, I located a SCG in 38 Super and went with that.

As a finish option, Colt will do a pistol in the bright stainless.  You could have them fit the parts and then finish in bright stainless.  That's probably what I would do.  However, I would likely leave as is - I like the classic looks.  The only thing I'd d would be to fit an ambi safety since I'm a lefty.

Let us know how it rks out if you do get one.
