Well I been good this year and I want to start 2011 off with a new 1911.
If you could chose from:
A) Wilson CQB
                                       B) Nighthawk Talon
                                       C) Dan Wesson Valor
Which one would you get??
Thanks for the input.

Wilson.  Been building them longer and has a sterling reputation for customer service.

Nighthawk.  Wilsons are too much $ for what you get.

Actually, the Wilson is only $50.00 more than the Nighthawk.....won't sway my choice.

I guess you've been a very good boy,,,and though I'm not buyin it... I have an experience to offer..

I asked the question of owners/smiths at about a dozen higher end gun stores in 5 major cities from coast to coast in the last 2 years.
[I am hoping for a windfall in a year or two and have promised my self ONE either custom built existing weapon OR buying a semi custom]

A, Wilson
B, Night Hawk
C. Brown

hands down with out thinking or a scintilla of hesitation; to a man and one woman, they all said:

WILSON

now, maybe Wilson has better profit margin,, . but the immediate response seems to say more than that..

Hell, I would get all three!

Seriously, you can't go wrong with any of them. The choice really comes down to you.

Now I would die for a Wilson Ultralight Carry.

I cannot believe some illiterate retard hasn't chimed in with, "get a Baer" or "I'd get an SA, their warranty is awesome".  joke

Heck, buy five RIA's and spend the rest on ammo...

I would love to have been good enough for any of the choices listed!

I have been "pretty" good this year ....lol, depends on who you ask.

I have always wanted a great 1911, maybe one of these will stop the "madness" for a few years (probably not).

Over the years I have shot a fair number of 1911's to include some custom and very nice bullseye guns; this past summer I was able to run 300 rounds of WWB Ball and some Ranger HP through a gently used Wilson CQB and fell in love. I had the chance to buy it for $ 2200 w/10 47D mags and some ball ammo; timing was all wrong...tuition for kid, transmission work...blah, blah, blah you know the drill.
Since then I have lusted after a really nice 1911, a shooting partner has allowed me some time with his Nighthawk and it seems to be a great gun and several I know have spoken highly of the Valor.
I know I am only going to get one bite at the apple so I want to choose wisely.

Thanks for all of the comments.

I'd go with the WC CQB, but that's just me.

But if I could choose from something else in that price range, I'd be looking at:

Springfield Professional
Ed Brown Special Forces
Les Baer Thunder Ranch Special
Custom from the likes of Ron Phillips
