I was in the same boat a few months ago. I was looking at the same ones. I ended up getting the Warrior basically because I couldn't find an MC Operator anywhere and everyone was telling me there was a long wait for them. I honestly did not care which one I ended up with. I have not had a single problem with my Warrior. I did however buy new magazines because the one that comes with the Warrior feels cheap. It may not have the warranty that the Operator has, but if something goes wrong with my Warrior I'll just send it to a custom shop and make it even better, which was my plan for any 1911 I was going to buy. |
| I chose the Kimber, because i purchased one with some money I had and for $1100, it was a deal for me, specially since it had a 1-piece guiderod, Strider Gunner Gips and night sights already. THough if I choose to buy another 1911, it will probably be an MC Operator. |

Quoted: I carry Kimbers, but based on Hilton Yam's assessment of several dozen Warriors, I'd never buy one. The same thing happens when you talk to Ford mechanics, or Carrier HVAC repairmen. Fact is Hilton is a professional 1911 gunsmith, right? I would expect to see "broken" 1911's in my shop if I were a 1911 gunsmith. That being said, I believe his advice was that if you wanted the best chance at getting a 1911 that worked right from the dealer to your holster (as a cop), Kimber wasn't going to be it until they addressed some glaringly consistent issues on current production. Those are real concerns, but not necessarily what you may, or may not get from a new Kimber. I bet Hilton, Vickers, Hackathorn, Yost, Burton, and others could cherry pick good ones from bad ones before ever leaving the showroom. If you can find a used Kimber Warrior for a good price, from a known source who says it works, it will be a great 1911. I have one, I know. If you can't, you should buy the Springfield MC Operator. Period. I voted Operator in the poll, despite my ownership of the Warrior. |

Quoted: Quoted: When I faced that dilemma I went with which ever I got the best buy on. I got my Like New Warrior for $850 Which would you go with if the new price for either was about that much? It's not really a fair question for others to base their choice on as I routinely work on 1911's and small issues that perplex most folks are easily remedied by me. If I was new to 1911's or wasn't comfortable working on my own 1911 I'd opt for the Springfield simply because of it's lifetime warranty and amazing customer service. |
