I have an FEG PA-63 and have been calling it a makarov, which im not sure that it even is technically. It's chambered in 9mm mak and has the two tone finish with silver (alloy?) frame and black slide. I paid $100 for the gun about a year ago, came with two mags and a military-style leather flap holster.

Is this a good price for this gun?? I thought for $100, i could at least try it. Will this gun work with most makarov accessories, mainly grips and holsters? Also, my biggest question, i've only shot about a box and 1/2 of ammo through it. The guy i bought it from had about a mag full of fmj's, probably s&b, that i shot and had no problems with. I bought a box of wolf hollow points, and i couldn't get the damn things to feed for nothing. It's like they were hanging up the magazine follower while i was loading the mag. After I put about four rounds in the mag, the follower would hang up about halfway down and not push back up. I would actually have to turn the gun upside down to chamber a round!?!? And when i did this, the ammo would hang up about every 2-3 shots.

Anybody have a similar experience with wolf hp's? Also, what brand of ammo and bullet style work best for you?

Thanks in Advance

By no means am I an expert with the PA-63.   I've owned one for about a month and have fired approx 100 rnds through it. I have learned alot about this weapon from this board and from the experts on gunboards.com.  Also check out Makarov.com's other pistols site.  first off it is not a Makarov!!!  In my experience you will get alot of peoples dander up by calling it that.  It is chambered 9x18 cal(Makarov), and is often mistakenly referred to as Makarov. Plus I'm sure it's used as a selling point.  even though it is not a Mak, it is a very accurate and reliable weapon.  I carry mine daily, while I'm looking for a Mak.  It has a wicked recoil, and DA trigger pull, which is fixed by a spring change which you can do.  All that info is available on both the above mentioned boards.  You got me on the price.  I paid about fifty more retail.  There is also good info concerning loads.   I stick with 95 grain mil surp.  I to have had problems with hollow points feeding, whereas I have had no problems with 95gr ball ammo.  All in all I'm happy with mine.  I'll probaly still carry it some when I find my Makh.gif  There are also owner manuals available on the web if you need them.
