| I've got a 1943 Walther P-38 that I've only shot a couple times and the trigger pull is heavy, I took it to a gunshop and they said that the pull is excessive, and should be much lighter, but couldn't tell me what is the matter or how to fix it. Is there something that causes the heavy trigger pull and is it something that is common to P-38's? |

Check to see if the firing pin block lever is bent. Had this happen with a guys series 80 Gold Cup. It had a 25lb+ trigger when he brought it to me. You know when you put the slide back on and you have to depress the arm that sticks up out of the frame on the P38? Well if a mo-ron does not push it down, and simply smashes the slide back you can actually bend the arm up a little. When pushed down it should only be slightly above the top of the frame. Remember this lever has to go up just enough to push the firing pin block out of the way. Any more and it just increases the trigger pull. |
