I didn't like storing my Luger collection upside down on the shelves of my gun safe.  Like the top photo shows my P.38s and PPs being stored.

I was afraid of damage to the tops and also was not able to identify, inspect or display them with the bottom sides up.

So I bought just the right dimensioned tool box top section; gutted out several shelves; made racks; and Viola!

Note:  No pistol is resting with metal on metal contact.  A PVC insulated threaded rod forms the horizontal rest.  The pistols rest on the concave rear of the trigger guard and the mag rests on rubber toolbox mat.

Very open.  No enclosed moisture traps.

The first photo shows both drawers closed.  The second photo shows the bottom drawer pulled out.

That's why I can't find any Lugers... you bought them all.

Looks good.

Negative.  My other area of collector interest is US Infantry Rifles.  And I think military 1911s are purty too.

I just suffer from OCD sometimes.  You shouldn't make fun of sick people.

I bought rubber coated racks from Versatile Rack co. They have worked quite well for me over the years. I am jealous of your wide body safe, I am limited to smaller ones due to my stairs.

Nice tower of pistols, P.08.

Don't take this the wrong way, but:  I like your racks.

How much did they set you back?

I bought them in bulk and sold the rest off, they were about $14 each.

GFs don't have the right to bitch about gun purchases IMO. You better break her now of that BS before she becomes a wife cuz...by then...it's too late.

My wife knows what I have and how much is "invested" in them. This is the key, if they are investments then they are better. Of the many Lugers I have most I paid $250-500 for that are now worth 5 times that.
