How do you like yours?
researching for possible purchase a double stack 1911 is intriguing, but I know little about them |

I have 3. They all run fine. Not the same fit and finish you find on high end stuff but that's why they aren't priced as such. For example, the grips are funky They have a little tab that recesses into the frame and it makes them not interchangable with stanard 1911 grips.
Anyway, they're not expensive and mine work fine. One under the bed, one near front door and one near garage door. |

I like my P-13 quite well and wouldn't think of selling it and I have had 1911's for quite a while. I got my first 1911 which was accurized at Frank Pachmeyer's shop in 1975.
I have replaced all the springs in mine (P-13) and have replaced the mag catch with an Ed Brown part that does a much better job of keeping the mag from accidently ejecting. I like and use the Mec-Gar 10rd mags and find that the high cap PO mags also need a spring change ( I use wolf springs here also). High cap mags are $29.95 at CDNN and if you want a bit more you can use the P-14 mags which I fit with a chopped down mag extender from (IIRC) A&G. This gives you 14 rds and a full size grip profile. Mine feeds everything well and is quite accurate. Only problem with the mag conversion is adding the extender also adds bulk to the back of the mag that may catch on your hand during mag changes. |
