Here is a pic of my (New to me) TAC-S that I just picked up today. I got a pretty good deal on it ($625.00), + 5 mags. The previous owner had only put 50 rounds through it....

This is my older Para....a stainless Companion LDA:

I took the TAC-S out to the range and experienced a few incidents where the magazine would not lock into the mag well during a reload. This occurred with a variety of mags (CMC Powermags, Wilsons, Kimber and factory Paras) I sent an email to Para Ordnance and received a new magazine catch assembly without charge.

I installed the new mag catch assembly and this time the mags would not only fail to lock in during a reload, but the mags would drop free during firing!

I ended up installing the original mag catch with the new mag catch latch and spring from the replacement one they sent me and that seemed to do the trick. Upon examining the mag catch "ledge" where it engages the magazines and comparing it to the mag catch from my Sprinfield Armory and my Kimber, it looks like the Para has an angle or slant in the end of it, whereas the SA and the Kimbers are more rounded and larger.

Has anyone else had issues with the mags not staying locked in the pistol?
