I am very interested in one. Any ideas where I can find one in very good condition+ and at a decent price?

Thanks in advance guys.

Gun Broker would be where I would look first.

Good luck!

They are remarkably slim and compact guns that feel great in the hand.   I bought one several years ago and never even got to shoot it before a friend had talked me out of it.  I wouldn't mind picking up another one for the curio value; they are definitely guns you don't see every day, and I've never seen anyone shooting one.

Two things I don't like: most of the mags are Clinton-neutered 10 rounders, which is a shame... after the AWB expired the BDM was dead and gone, so nobody bothered to make a new run of mags.   The other thing is that the safety operates backward from a 1911 safety.

I think you guys are my only help in finding a nice Browning BDM at a decent price because everywhere I look they are either beat up or overly expensive. Any of your local gun shops has any? Any website?

I've only seen one.  I bought it for $385 (or was it $375??)  Anyway, I've been looking at gunshows since (over the last 6 months and have not seen another one.  Most folks, even gun store owners don't have a clue what they are and have never seen one.

Anyway, I bought 4 aftermarket high capacity magazines (two from two different internet vendors).  Two worked great, two did not, and I don't know which ones came from which place.  I'm going to order 1 more from each vendor and mark them before I go to the range so I can figure out who to buy some more from.

Very nice guns. I have a couple.

The reverse safety can take some getting used to- but they are so slim it is easy to CCW.

My grandfather had one. After he died I offered to buy it from my gradmother because I knew she could use some money. She didn't think I should be spending my money so she gave it to my aunt and uncle as a thank you for helping her decorate her new house. It went to a good home (both avid shooters), but I still would like to own it someday.

It's a great fitting gun in the hand. The mags are 10 rounds, but the mechanism and the idea behind it are pretty cool. I don't know why it's not still made, I think it would be a great seller.

And here's some BDM pron:

That two-tone one is at $365 with no reserve, and no bids on it.  Less than two days left on it, might be worth keeping an eye on.  My local shop had one the other day.  I think it was priced at $550, but I'm not sure.  If it's still there next time I stop by I might have to give it a look.  I've never thought much of them, as I'm more into the Hi-Powers, but they are kinda interesting.

Does this use a P-35 magazine?

Nope.  In a systemic and all-too-oft-repeated fit of what can only be called horrific stupidity,  they decided to use an all-new magazine for this gun.  If Browning / FN had ever seen fit to realize there are billions of P35 mags floating around out there already, perhaps they wouldn't have authored such a terrific string of handgun failures.

I just picked this beauty up yesterday

Came with 3 10 round mags.  I am searching for some high cap mags now....  Can't wait to shoot it.  My old man has one, but its the all black (park?) finish.  I am not a fan of bitone guns, but this one caught my eye.

Not quite.  It uses the same mag as the FN HP/DA.

i dunno, its slim, accurate and functions fine, but I am not sure if its my thing.  I am going to shoot it some more and see if I fall in love with it.

The trigger is a bit stiffer than necessary and I don't like the front sight with it's stair step profile.  Also my trigger finger rubs on the trigger guard, should have had a little larger trigger guard with the pivoting trigger.

Otherwise it's a dream to carry and is combat accurate, my carry holster is a kramer IWB.  Most of the ammo I've shot in mine was cheap UMC or USA ball ammo.  Accuracy is not as good as I hoped, sufficient for social encounters though.  Mine came with two high caps.
