| Which full size .45 would you choose ? I'm a 1911 and a .45 type of guy but i was wondering which of the following would you be most likely to own. |
|
Gonna get a Ruger kp345pr next month. I held one the other day and it really fits the hand very well. Plus (besides my 1911), I have a Ruger Blackhawk convertable model with 45 colt and 45 ACP cylinders. A single action is not what your were thinking, but a full size 45 it is. |

I've got a USP 9, and the thing that attracted me to it is that it's controls are virtually identical to the 1911 and colt woodsman that I already have. However, it does give the option of a decocker, and a DA trigger in case you ever need it. It's a solid piece that should give you a lifetime of service. That said the DA trigger pull SUCKS! Of course if you get the tactical or elite you'll get the match trigger. Or the match trigger is an 80 to 100 dollar aftermarket add on. I like the Sig, it's a solid piece, but I liked the HK a little better, and it was my first foray into the world of polymer pistols. |
I think he's asking "other than a 1911, ..." - at least that's how I read it. ![]() I've shot all those listed at one time or another except the H&K (I've shot their 9mm & .40S&W, but not a .45). I believe I would be happy with any of them but the G21. I'm not a Glock-hater (G19 is my usual CCW gun), but the G21 is just too big for my hands (6'3", size 13 feet, teeny-tiny-girly-hands - go figure! ). The only one of those listed that I currently own is a S&W (645, to be exact). It has served me well for many years & I shoot well with it, so I voted S&W.

| I like the P220 as well, hoewever, of the choices you gave, I like the Smith & Wesson 1911 (which I happen to own) as well. Out of the box, it is very accurate and shoots very well. A number of my range buddies have purchased their own and have remarked on how good they are for the price. Most compare it to their Kimber 1911's. |
Again, I believe he meant to specifically exclude all 1911s & the "S&W" choice in the poll was for the 645, 745, 4506, etc. ETA: Not flaming - I just think you misunderstood.

Sorry, I guess he didn't really clarify that, did he? Anyway, I think my post was valid since I mentioned the P220. |
