Will a Para high cap fram work with any other brand of slide/barrel etc?

Generally speaking, yes. But there'll be some fitting/tightening required by a gunsmith. The slide also will need to be fitted for a ramped barrel, IIRC.

The only thing different on a Para P series and a standard 1911 top end is that the Para takes a ramped barrel. Any standard 1911 top end and barrel with the Para style ramp will work. Of course it may require fitting by a competent gunssmith and YMMV.
