This morning i went down to Academy Sports to see if any .380 ammo had come in.I had been wanting to get a Ruger LCP from reading all the online talk about them.I looked at some online sales.
Best with shipping and transfer fee was going to cost me $339.00 and one gun shop in town had one for $349.99. So while i'm waiting at Academy i go over to the pistols at and down on the bottom shelf
is a Ruger LCP and the price was $319.99...I am like holy cow man! I say let me see that. He says it just came in last night only one we have and they go fast. I say i will take it. While i'm doing the paperwork two
other guys come in asking about a LCP...I smile. Sorry man. Out the door with Texas tax is $346.39. I took it home cleaned it.Ate lunch picked up my Dad and we headed to the range and i shot
28 rounds through it with out any hic ups.Now some have mentioned the LCP has a long trigger pull and let me add it has a Long...long damn long trigger pull.First shot i'm thinking when is it going to shoot.
It not something i would want to shoot a lot as it barks pretty good and i was shooting some UMC 95 Gr FMJ that was about ten years old.28 was all i could handle today. It wil do the job i intend it for.
A carry gun in a Crossbreed Mini-Tuck which is on order already and under summer clothes, T-Shirt etc.For winter and jacket i will carry my Glock 33 (357 Sig). I like the LCP its great lttle gun.
It was real windy and my target blew away before i could get pics but at 15 yards i was about 2 inch groups with it.

Below out at the range in the bright sun...

REM-UMC runs good in mine as well. Anything made by Federal/Speer/ATK...no so well.

I want to find some Hornady Critical Defense...You ever shot any of that in the LCP?

Yes. It runs fine. So does WWB. Mine just hates all things federal.

I shot my grandfathers and I was surprised at how well it shoots. Once you figure out the trigger it isn't to bad.

Both of them? Coldblooded, bro.

That's a nice looking gun and looks perfect for a clip and a pocket.

That made me laugh.  Until I realized it was at the expense of dead patriarch's...

This, mine either. I tried Federal Hydra-Shock and it did not like them. I ran some Corbon through it and it wasn't very fond of that either. I bought some Prvi Partizan for threat training and it likes that. I carry it as my BUG on duty with Speer Gold Dot, it loves them. I stole some of my step-daughter's yellow nail polish and put a dab on the front sight, helpd a lot with quick threat acquisition. I also shot Winchester target ammo through it and it feeds fine. I've been able to stock up on ammo from Wally World. Thanks for the post OP.

I've had my LCP for about 1.5 months now and put about 150 rounds through it...you're correct, not an all say shooter. I put a glove on after about 25 rounds because I wanted to run some rounds through it but did not want to whine like a little bitch...

Mine has run flawless and I bought it because of the many good reviews out there. Not my primary but it gets carried as a bug and a primary when nothing else will do...

Congrats.

I went to our indoor range and shot it some more and my G33.The LCP trigger seems to be feeling better after 50 rounds been through it now or i'm getting used to it.
Did some pretty fair shooting but i might put something on that front sight so i can see it better.Thye had another magizine in stock so picked that up too.
I have CHL class at this place satuday and needed to practice with my G33 on a B27 target.

IMO, if I were going to carry a 380, I'd carry FMJ.  JHP in this caliber often gets insufficient penetration.

Anyways, I ended up getting a LCP myself. I got it for the low price of $20, or one raffle ticket lol.

2 inch groups at 15 yards with an LCP is damn good (offhand). I get that at about 7.

That's what I thought too.  For me the LCP is about a 7 yard gun.

I bought one a few days ago.

Went to the range yesterday and put 100 rounds of white box and 20 rounds of Gold Dot through it.  Performed flawlessly.  For a tiny BUG with sights that are hardly there it shoots really well and I was able to get reasonable groups at 15yds.

I'm carrying mine in a SigArms leather pocket holster made for the Sig 380 - it just happens to fit the LCP and the draw is very fast.  Looks just like a wallet in the pocket.
