What do you recommend as a go-to-gun?  If you could only have one - what would it be?

My H&K P30. 16 shots of 9mm Speer Gold Dots.  Perfect trade-off of capacity/power, IMO.  Also has factory night sights and a mounted light.  Sorry for the cruddy iPhone pic...

HK, Glock, well, might as well throw SIG into the ring.  20 rounds of 9mm with the P226:

"go-to-gun" pistol, for me, is a Gen2 G17.

It just turned 20 years old this month, and it's one of the best, most solid, most reliable pistols I've ever owned.

Which ever one you shoot the best - doesn't matter what any of us would choose.

This wisdom is evaded by the groupies.

For me it would be either my Glock 19 or 21SF, I shoot them both very well and have a bunch of magazines and holsters.

Glock.

I'd pick my G23 if I HAD to ony choose one...Otherwise, that's what holsters and daypacks are for...

Either a GLOCK 17 or an H&K USP fullsize in .45ACP

G17, I like the slightly larger grip over my G19.

G19 is my carry gun, G17 is setup for night stand duty with a TLR-1.

9mm Glock 17 or 19, or a .357 revolver.

a smith and wesson model 19 4" revolver- the closest to a jack of all trades for me- a little big to carry but still concealable, dead nuts reliable and effective power,a little light but possible to use for handgun hunting, suitable for idpa or ipsc revolver matches, a little short in the barrel but still capable as a bullseye competition centerfire. superlight 38 colt or special wadcutters to full house 357 mags- and at least where I am from a good carried a lot shot a little used police duty gun can be had for 300 bucks or less.

Glock, because parts for it are cheap, rarely break, and I can detail strip the thing in well under 5 minutes.

Oh yeah, that whole dead-nuts reliable thing is kinda nifty too.

1911 for me.
