What a piece of CRAP! I bought one... BIG F'ing mistake! I wanted to get my wife something that would be easy for her to learn on, and non-intimidating to new shooters.

I had more FTF, FTE problems than you can shake three sticks at NO MATTER what ammo I fed it... I fed it everything trying to get it to work... everything from cheap Federal stuff to MiniMags to Stingers, to pretty much a box of everything on the gunshop shelf. Sheesh..

And on top of that THE FRONT SIGHT BLADE FELL OFF!!!!!!!

Im sorry I ever bought it... anyone else have similar problems?

I had the same problems with mine. I got rid of it, besides it was just too small for me. I had one of the first ones to come out a couple of years ago. I guess they've gotten better with the newer ones. You might of had an older one.

Send it back for repair. When it comes back it will have a letter saying nothing was ever wrong with it, but when you take it to the range it will suddenly work virtually jam free with the right ammo.

At least this is what happened to me

Do you have the old or new mags?

Thats weird, my friends works fine with almost all ammo, he said it was a little iffy at first but eventually smoothed out.  I suggest putting a bunch of Mini Mags through it and see if that helps.

Mine took about 500-1000 rounds of Remington golden saber before it started to function smoothly.  It does not like lead ammo and will only function well with jacketed stuff.

I had considered buying one until I saw the slide blow off the frame of another ARFCOM members P22.

I am up to probably 700-1000 rounds in mine.  I have both barrels shott many types of cheap ammo.  never a real problem with either barrel.  Maybe 5 or 6 jams ever..... after it got really dirty.

what ammo do you use? I hear minimags are best but it didnt work well with them either.

I use the CCI Mini-Mag solids. They work better than almost a dozen brands and types of ammo I tried. Before I sent the gun back for the "non-repair" it didn't work right with any ammo, including the Mini-Mags. It was frustrating not finding any ammo that would function correctly and I was about to give up on it.

My P22 was one of the new ones. I never had an old model to compare with, but the new ones are hit or miss in my opinion. Once the factory goes over it though, it should work like it is supposed too.

I have two P22's.  Both has lots of FTF and FTE's when I got them.  I put a Wal-Mart 550 rd box of Federal .22LR's through them (one box each) as fast as I could (with all the FTE and FTF's - not fast).  Once I got through the first box with the first P22, it started working just fine.  I still get an occasional FTF, but I attribute that more to the ammo than the gun.

I have not had  that many failures with mine and I shoot whatever ammo I can find. I bought it when they first came out a couple of years ago and have put a few bricks of ammo through it. My main complaint is that horrible trigger. Other than that it is great. My 2cents.

I think it was a couple of weeks. I sent customer support an email and they replied the next day to send it in. They included instructions to send it with their prepaid account number, so it didn't cost me a dime.

I have 30,000 rounds through mine.  All cheap cci blazer bricks.  It goes on sale every few months and I buy them by the case.  I had the same FTF and FTE for for the first 2 and 3,000 rounds that every one experiences.  After that it just got smother and more reliable.  The inside of my gun looks like hell and it is worn down in a lot of areas.  It does shoot and shoot well.  I do still have an ocasional FTE but it is usually the first round in a magazine.  I believe these pistols are hit or miss when it comes to reliability.

hopefully mine will do that as well... I just question the craftsmanshi of a pistol that the damn sights wont stay on it.

Mine has been a very good boy from day one eating everything I feed it without a hiccup.

Mine is one of the limited run “First Edition” models that were tuned before they left the factory though.

It’s the most reliable 22lr pistol I have ever owned.

Had the same problems with mine at first - the safety kept coming on automatically too.

Sent it back in, came back adjusted with 2 new magazines, haven't had a problem since.

I have a Gemtech suppressor on mine.  I find that it fires subsonic stuff more reliably with the 5" barrel than with the shorter barrel.  More accurate too.

I like this gun, but probably ould never consider it for concealed carry - even for a small lady.  Would be more inclined towards a .380.   .22's are a good offensive weapon, but a poor defensive one.  Better than nothing though.

mine had the safety problem also. i pulled it and streched the detent spring a bit. problem solved.

Mine took about 1500 rnds of high veleocity ammo to break in. now it only fails when it gets REALLY dirty. it's been 100% since break in.

When I bought mine I ran 1,050 rounds thru it with narry a problem.  This ammo was all Remington Golden.  I sold it and have the 2 barrel set with the gray frame and have ran about 3000 rounds thru it with no problems.   I love the little gun.. pretty damn accurate too.

I bought one a while back and everything is fine. A buddy tried Winchester in his and it hated it. Mine runs good with Remington subsonics and federal walmart 550 packs.

But I do hate the safety. Why would anyone design a safety that works "backwards" ??

I don't know about you, but my hands were designed for a safety that sweeps off when I grip the pistol. It may be from it's inbreeding from its Eurotrash Daddy and it's S&W Mom

Overall, good pistol for the range. Not a carry piece by any means.
