Is it? Just got my first handgun, and it would be nice to use the same stuff as i do on my AR.

A good gun should run on about anything, so yes.

It's all I use, on all my weapons.

It's good to go.

What kind of handgun?

It should work alright on just about everything but there are some things that it will work "less well" with.

I use the hell out of CLP on my handguns, rilfes, shotguns, or anything that needs lube

I have tetra grease, CLP, 3-in-1, Mobil 1 synthetic, Kroil, Remington gun oil, Hoppes gun grease, and probably some stuff I'm not thinking of readily available at the bench.  Don't need them all, just like having them.

BTW, I highly recommend keeping Kroil around.  It's useful for many things.

Screen doors, bathroom doors, utility truck box doors, tool box hinges, mail box hinges, and even a squeeky bedpost have been shot with clp around here. oh ya, i use it on all my guns too. just remember, not for human consumtion. external use only.

Which CLP are you asking about ?  I believe that Shooters Choice FP10 is better for your rifle and pistol.  Have you tried FP10 ?  Some of the CLP lubes are very thin , will not stay lubed , and some burn off with a residue left behind. They work but not as good as FP10. Also remember to keep the striker channel dry.

I use CLP on all my guns, but there is something to be said about FP-10 because it is good stuff and has it's place.

Yep, first discovered it in .mil work, and went from Rem oil to CLP, and haven't looked back.

The only problem with CLP is that it's so thin that it will weep and sling everywhere.  LP sticks to the metal much better and tends to stay where you put it.
